SHILOH SHARPS 1874 .45-70 PISTOL GRIP SPORTER (MONTANA ROUGHRIDER), this is a mid production example from the Farmingdale, New York factory in the 3XXX serial number range. It has a 30” standard octagon barrel, double set triggers, semi-buckhorn Lawrence ladder rear sight with slide and a globe front sight that will take inserts and case hardened steel military style butt plate and polished barrel, marked “Shiloh Rifle Mfg. Co” plus the iconic “Old Reliable” barrel stamping as on original Sharps rifles from the late 1870s (earlier rifles were stamped “Shiloh Products). Very attractive deep reddish/brown walnut, checkered steel lower tang and all in near new inside and out (has only a few of the tiniest handling marks one would have to look carefully to find), weighs approx. 10 ¼ pounds.
