ENGLISH Antique Engraved Percussion POCKET Pistol
Mid-19th Century European Self Defense Pistol
Here we present an antique Percussion Pocket Pistol, made circa 1840 in England. This diminutive pistol was made for self-defense, and would have slipped easily into a man’s pocket or a woman’s purse. This was the English equivalent to Henry Deringer’s famous American invention. The frame is engraved. The bore is large for size. The bottom of the pistol bears British proof marks.
The overall condition is good. The metal surfaces have a gray patina. The engraving is clear. The wood grip is in good shape. The bore is smooth and untouched. The action is strong.
