Description:
Very Nice (possibly original?) Spring 1942 Remington manufactured 1903 Springfield. 5-42 Remington Barrel, Excellent bore, near zero muzzle wear and throat wear measurement. Ultra sharp muzzle crown.
Bolt assembly, trigger guard assembly, sight assembly and stock assembly Remington marked. Stock has “Ordnance Wheel” and “R L B” spread inspection stamp for, Col. Roy L. Bowlin, Remington government inspector. Handguard is Remington profile, high hump, similar to WW1. Remington front sight cover. Excellent overall condition, appropriate mix of blued and parkerized metal. Not a CMP Greek Return.
Rifle has dark brown cosmoline in nooks and crannies of receiver and barrel assembly. Absolute time capsule. A potential buyer would be hard pressed to find an equal or better condition barrel on this or any 1903 Springfield.
Rifle will ship in a boxed Plano hard case. Ship direct to 01 FFL and 03 C&R
