Malin and Son. Mr. Malin apprenticed in Birmingham England and set up shop in Canada where he began building top quality guns in the English tradition. The gun I have for sale is a "Special Grade" and is so indicated on the bottom of the receiver. This gun is a two barrel set and the barrels measure 70 centimeters which equates a little over 27 1/2 inches. The barrels are numbered "1" and "2" in gold on the swamped rib of each barrel. Both barrels are choked for upland hunting with barrel "1" having .001 and .012 in constriction which would be cylinder and improved cylinder. Barrel "2" has .003 and .010 in constriction giving you skeet and improved cylinder. The engraving on this gun is nothing short of spectacular, having Quail on the left lock plate and Woodcock on the right. A beatuful dog with Grouse is on the bottom of the receiver. All of this is surrounded by fine scroll work with beautiful case coloring covering the 7 pin sidelock action. The gun has every possible bell and whistle, with sideclips, bushed firing pins, articulated front trigger, cocking indicators, and auto safety. Stock dimensions on the wonderful French Walnut is 1 1/2 X 2 1/4 X 14 3/4 over a nicely done leather pad. Gun has significant cast off for the right hand shooter. All of this comes in a wonderful original leather case along with rosewood cleaning rod, snap caps, oil bottle, bore brush and mop, and a set of fitted turn screws with ebony handles. In short what you have is a super high grade gun built in the english tradition in small bore in wonderful original condition at a fraction of what you would pay for any English sidelock. This gun is actually featured in Richard S. Grozik's book "Game Gun" on page 2. Price of the gun is $7500 plus $75 shipping to your FFL. As always there is a three day non-firing inspection period with the buyer paying shipping charges if returned. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have on this wonderful upland gun.
