Payment Types Accepted: BANK CHECK, MONEY ORDER, OR PERSONAL CHECK Description: SEE THE PICTURES OF THIS BEAUTIFUL 1911A1 USARMY PISTOL-SERIAL NUMBER 255603 MANUFACTURED IN EARLY 1937 FROM COLT 1911 PARTS LEFTOVER FROM WWI. THIS PISTOL IS A ALL ORIGINAL, ASSEMBLED BY COLT, USING EXCESS 1918 RECEIVER AND COMPONENT PARTS. IT IS A EXTREMELY RARE PISTOL IN EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION. SLIDE LOCK: WITHOUT MILLED CUT UNDER TAP, "VP" MARK IS NOT PRESENT ON THIS EARLY PISTOL. THIS PISTOL IS THE ONE OF THE FIRST THAT SERIAL NUMBER STAMPED ON THE SLIDE AND ON THE BARREL. THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SLIDE IS MARKED " MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". THE "P" FIRING PROOFS WILL NOT BE PRESENT ON THESE PISTOLS.ALSO, THESE PISTOLS DO NOT HAVE INSPECTION INITIALS. This pistol does not look as Colt US Military 1911 manufactured in 1918 at the same time it does not look as it was 1918 mfg refinished pistol ether. By the description of this pistol existing condition and the many matching in this pistol changes were applied to the 1937 Colt 1911A production, a few Colt 1911 experts concluded that this pistol has all aspects to be produced by Colt in 1937. We can argue about real appearance history of it but it does exist it has parts from 1918 mfg Colt 1911 and 1937 mfg Colt 1911A. We can call it a "parts gun" or a "hybrid", we can call it whatever we like, but we can not reject that this pistol is a beautiful extremely rare condition with some hiding mystery behind. It is not possible to find out the exact history of it there were of course pistols produced at the Colt which were not registered in Cold record books, but there is no question the way this pistol looks it should be assembled at the Colt factory.
