Description:
This revolver was made in Belgium for the American market in the 1880s. An interesting ANTIQUE REVOLVER in 44-40 WCF with a 5 3/8 in. barrel. It is stamped "Frontier Army" on the top strap and on the barrel "FOR WINCHESTER CARTRIDGE Belgium". It locks up tight, cycles, and all parts function. These guns were offer by Sears Roebuck and Mongomery Wards in the 1880s. The rear cylinder face shows"ELG" in an oval proof mark. The butt plate has a lanyard ring.  The gun has smooth silverish patina with traces of old nickel plate. The striking feature is the stag grips. They have been hand made to fit the gun perfectly. The bore is shinny with shallow rifling and some pitting. Many of these were used in Wild West Show performances for use in shooting glass target balls. You can often see these revolvers in old photos of cowboy as they were often used as photo props. These revolvers were carried in the Old West in lieu of the more expensive Colt SA.  This is an ANTIQUE and can be shipped directly to you. Sold as an Antique ~ no guarantees, warranties, or liabilities for any actual usage. If any firearms are to be used for shooting purposes, a qualified gunsmith should inspect them first. Adult Signature required.
