Description:
This is a Late First Model 1873 Carbine and the serial number is 24515. This 44-40 carbine was made in 1878. The bore is about very good bright and shiny with strong rifling. The mechanical function is very good and tight. The wood is solid and without any damage or cracks except for one small and tight 1 ½” long crack on the bottom of the front wood next to the receiver. The metal has some fine traces of corrosion on the receiver top and oval dust cover. Only traces of any finish remain on this late first model 1873 Carbine. There is an emblem on the right rear close to the butt. It looks like a five-point star and the letters MJR below it. This should be researched.
I would consider trades for pre 1899 ANTIQUE PISTOLS and rifles on any of my items.. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO TRADE? Ask about our 30-90 day lay-away program. We accept Bank Check, Money order, Personal checks or wire transfer.
