Description:
Winchester 1886 standard rifle manufactured in 1898. 40-65 cal. 26' round barrel. Blued and casehardened. Standard sights. Gun has 98% strong original barrel and tube blue. Ever so slightly thinning on part of the tube. Casehardening is more vivid on left side of frame. See pics. the stock and forearm have a added coat of varnish added. Stock is slightly undersized on upper tang. See pics. Forearm has two tiny holes filled on each side up front. Don't have a clue for a reason. See pic. Stock also has a single sling swivel eyelet added which could be removed and filled. Bore is shiny, but has a couple of minor pits. Great rifling. Action is perfect. Most screws are great. The added varnish is probably the worst aspect of a great original finish gun. It really has a great honest look overall. Call 973-214-3407 with any questions. Buyer payes actual shipping cost.
