.44 Caliber Percussion Rifle
Here we present an antique Springfield Trapdoor Rifle that has been converted to a percussion rifle. The bore is .44 caliber. The sights are military style, with a front post and rear leaf. The lock is marked with a federal eagle and “U.S. SPRINGFIELD”. The “circle/P” is visible behind the trigger guard. The blue finish is about 90% on the replacement barrel. The markings are clear. The walnut stock is quite worn, but solid. Action is strong.
