Description:
Developed in the late 1950's at the Polish Institute for Artillery Research, the Model P-64 pistol was refined and eventually accepted into Polish Military service in 1965 during the "Cold War".  The final version of the 9mm Makarov (9x18mm) P-64 pistol was built in the Lucznik Arms Factory for years until the Polish Army decided to adopt the WIST 94 pistol and ended production of the P-64. The WIST 94 was chambered in 9mm NATO instead of the 9mm Makarov cartridge.  Despite not being the current 1st line sidearm of the military, there are still P-64 pistols in the inventory of the Polish Armed Services as well as police forces all over the country.  This 1968-manufactured example is in very good condition overall, and is mechanically excellent.  The original blue finish still looks very good and shows just some minimal high edge wear from holster carry and some small handling marks.  The bore in this pistol is minty and bright.  There is no pitting or erosion and the rifling still has sharp lands and grooves.  As you can see in the pictures the factory checkered plastic grips show some very minor handling marks and scratches but are free from cracks or repairs.  This pistol works 100% like the day it left the F.B. Radom factory.  It comes with an original Cold War era holster which houses a cleaning rod and extra magazine, both of which are included.  The inside of the top flap has the Polish soldiers name written in it that was issued this rig, but it has been scribbled over making it very hard to read.  Most Cold War era Eastern Bloc/Soviet weapons are somewhat crude and have dull military finishes.  This Polish F.B. Radom has a very high degree of fit and finish, with a nearly commercial quality blue finish and expertly fit small parts.  This P-64 rig would be an excellent addition to any military firearms collection and from what we can find online, it would be pretty hard to find one in any better condition.
