A really super example of the Mauser factory. The remaining blue is about 90- 95%. The loss is due to some slight toning of the trigger guard/baseplate and the bolt handle. Add a little for sharp edge silvering and that's about it. There is no rust, pits, scratches or rub marks. Nothing that detracts from fine appearance of the gun.
All numbers match and they are to numerous to list. It suffices to say that everything that should be numbered is and it matches. The receiver and barrel have all the proper Eagle/ Swastikas and Eagle/135 inspector's maker stamps in the correct locations. The butt plate is stamped, ggm/44 which is correct as the these came from a separate contractor. The gun is guaranteed to be 100% correct in every way.
The stock is the proper laminated type and has an illegible inspector's stamp on the right side of the butt. The condition is great, however it does show several scattered little surface nicks and dings. There are no splits or chips missing. The slide rails, bolt face, magazine floor plate and feed ramp show only the slightest use.
The bore is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling. Possible some very slight scattered frost. It comes with one correct Mauser 98K sling, cleaning rod, front sight cover and original 98K sling. It is obvious that the gun has seen very combat use. For the collector or shooter this is guaranteed to be a "no regrets" acquisition....$1795.
