NOT ARSENAL REFURBISHED. First let me say that this is one of the very few surviving Type 26s that have not been Arsenal refurbished. The hammer has retained 95% of the original fire blue. The all refurbs have hammer's that are blued the same as the gun.
The condition here is really fine. There are a few scattered pinpricks but no rust spots. The gun retains about 85-90% of the original Tokyo Arsenal blue. The bulk of the loss is as shown in the pictures. Mostly muzzle, cylinder and sharp edge silvering from holster. wear. All numbered parts match.
The hardwood checkered grips are in fine shape. No splits, just a couple of light surface nicks and a few flattened points.
The recoil shield and force cone show little evidence of any use. The bore is super bright with razor sharp rifling. For a gun that has been through lord knows how many wars and could be 120+ years old. It is outstanding.
The gun comes with the original capture papers that indicate it was from 116th. Engineer Combat Battalion stationed at Hiro, Japan. What a beautiful slice of history for the serious WWII collector.....REDUCED ....$1295.
