Description:
Here's a pair of shotguns that you don't see every day.  These have been my go to guns for about the last seven years.  They were made in 1882 for Major General Sir Arthur Ellis, Equerry to the Prince of Wales (://en.wikipedia/wiki/Arthur_Ellis_(British_Army_officer)).  The barrels were originally 30 inch Whitworth steel with sideside clips.  In 1974 (see original invoice) the guns were sleeved to 28 inches and completely overhauled by Elderkins (://elderkinguns.co.uk/).  At which time I suspect that the combs were raised and the case was partially relined and releathered in pigskin.  Based on the work that Elderkins did and the remnants of pitting on the underlevers and other places the guns must have been put away damp at one time.  However, they only weigh a tad over 6 lbs and handle like a dream.  I added leather pads added to the guns to increase the length of pull to 15 1/4 inches.  These guns are ready to take to the field.
