Description:
Octagonal pinned 35-3/4” rifled barrel in .36 caliber with bright bore. Gun maker initials R. D. engraved forward of hammer. Notched rear sight and brass front blade sight, long tang of unusual form. Flat percussion lock 4 ¾” made by T. DAVIDSON & CO, CINCINNATI O. Tyler Davidson owned and managed the business from 1834-1866. Curly Maple stock of Ohio form with unusual high relief cheek piece, brass furniture and double set triggers. Sheet brass side plate with large piercing, trigger guard with large spur protruding from back of bow and long 2-7/8” nose cap. Very good condition overall, mechanically sound.
