Description:
Remington 1875 in 44-40 with the rarer blue finish. 7 1/2" barrel. Very good mechanically. An honest blued finish Remington 1875. This is a 100% un-messed with revolver. The batch number under the grips is 17 as Remington did not put serial numbers on the 1875's. No caliber markings on the gun except the 44 stamped on the lower left grip which indicates the 44-40 caliber. This was done on the earlier guns. Top of barrel is stamped "E. Remington & Sons ILion.NY. U.S.A." All of this is correct. The revolver has a nice even patina with very few corrosion marks. The grips have normal wear with no breaks, splits or deep gouges.
