Description:
#4998 Colt 1878 D/A 4-3/4”x38WCF, manufactured in the 24XXX serial range (1889), VG bore and action is working properly on both S/A and D/A modes. There is some thin traces of original blue, but mostly this is a grey-brown gun with scattered light/moderate pitting ..and it is missing the front sight (which may have been intentionally removed for a faster draw and eliminationg the possibility of the sight being caught in the holster). It has hard rubber grips with moderate/heavy wear and the usual small chips where the guide pins are in the backstrap, and still has the lanyard intact. It does have the correct two-line barrel address although only the slightest vestage remains and barely visable even with a magnifying glass. While this is not an advanced collection quality gun, it is a good representative piece and in good working order. G-Good+ $875
