Here is deeply engraved German 16 hammer gun by Andreas Ahl. Excellent game scene engraving. Original unrestored condition. Nice long 30 1/2" damascus barrels.
The mechanics of this gun are quite interesting. Jones Underlever - considered to be the strongest breech loading bolting system available. Rebounding hammers. Trigger guard of horn and metal. Tight on face. No loose ribs.
The original condition damascus barrels are chambered for 2 3/4" shells. Light pitting in the bores in a few areas, otherwise excellent. These bores have never been honed, so most or all of that can be removed if desired.
Stock dimensions are quite contemporary with LOP of 14 1/4". Drop at comb is 1 3/8" and drop at heel is 2 1/4". Checkering in some areas is worn smooth, but again this gun has not been refinished.
As an antique, this gun can be shipped directly as local law allows (No NYC or NJ). Shipping is $40.
