This is a very nice, 1884-made revolver that has about 40-45% of the original nickel finish remaining, mostly on protected areas, with the balance of the metal having flaked to a bright, pewter gray patina. A few further surface scratches and small peen marks are also present on the top of the barrel. The hammer and trigger likewise have faint traces of original bright fire blue remaining on some of the protected areas. The checkered hard rubber grips are intact, and in very good shape with light surface wear and some mild flattening of the points along both panels. The mechanism is fully functional both in single and double action, and the lock-up is still tight. This is a handsome, antique Colt 1878 that is in very good-near fine condition.
