B. Cogswell Percussion Rifle. Caliber approximately .56. Bore is excellent. Barrel marked “B. Cogswell, Strand London”. B. Cogswell is listed as Benjamine Cogswell at 224 Stand, London from 1857-1863. Barrel is 28 ¾” and overall length is 45 ½”. Barrel is flat filed on top and has an even patina. Action works perfectly. Hammer has half and full cock. Stock has beautiful figured wood. Checkering is excellent. Very fine classic hunting rifle.
