Description:
Beautifully engraved, presentation cased, Colt 1849 Pocket Model. The 5-shot .31 caliber revolver is fitted with a 4 inch Harford CT. addressed octagon barrel, silver plated trigger guard and back-strap, color case-hardened frame, hammer, and loading lever, and nicely figured one-piece walnut grips. This 1860 vintage gun has about 60% of its surface beautifully engraved by noted engraver Gustave Young. The frame, hammer, and loading lever have lost most all of their original color case-hardened finsh. The barrel retains 30% of its original blue finish and the cylinder retains just a few traces of its original blue finish. The trigger guard and back-strap retain 30% of their original silver plate. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, and there is minimal spotting. The action functions perfectly, though is somewhat loose. The cylinder scene is totally visible and crisp. Presentation case is in very good condition, is sound with tight hinges and the interior felt is in good condition. Includes an attractive powder flask, bullet mold, Colt cap box, and 6 lead balls. A great looking presentation piece, would make a great addition to any Colt or Civil War collection.
