Rare GERMAN Antique FIDELIO TOY Pistol by MÄRKLIN
Famous German Toy Train & Model Maker Est. 1859
Here we present an antique Märklin German “FIDELIO” Toy Pistol, made circa the early 20th Century. Märklin was established in 1859 and is still around today making toy trains. This toy pistol is a very rare specimen with no others found currently for sale worldwide. The pistol is a single shot breech-loader. The grips bear the Märklin monogram and are thin sheets that are decorated with vines. The cast iron frame is marked “FIDELIO” on each side. The breech block is numbered on the bottom. The barrel is 5-5/8 inches and octagonal. This appears to have shot a weak load with rubber bullets or something of that nature. Appears in nice shape. Action is functional.
