Winchester U.S. Mdl. M 1 Garand, Cal. .30-06, Ser. 25200XX.
A real winner for the serious collector. Great original condition and guaranteed to be 100% correct Winchester. The gun retains about 98% of the parkerized finish. There is just some sharp edge silvering and possibly a surface nick or two. The walnut stock has the boxed WRA/GHD, and Circle P on the inside of the pistol grip. Another "P". rebuild stampon the bottom of the pistol grip There is also the boxed OG on the left side of the.butt. . The Winchester barrel is correctly stamped Oval PW.
The op rod is an unmodified slant cut. The rear sight is 100% Winchester The butt plate is"2S" stamped. The gas cylinder lock, front sight with punch mark, single slot screw with proper concentric rings are all Winchester.
All internal parts are correct Winchester, with a 13 stamped follower, single bevel punch mark on the follower arm, The op rod catch is the correct blued heavily machined type. The bullet guide is milled, punch marked, and the very rare one piece forged short fork "A" marked follower rod is totally correct. The lower band is a milled arched type with machine marks. The trigger group is the small pad type. The trigger is correctly "A" stamped.
All other trigger parts are stamped "WRA" The clip latch is "CM" marked and the bolt is stamped "WRA". The stock and hand guard are well matched walnut. There are a few small scattered surface dings but no splits or gouges.
The bore is excellent, very bright and shiny with sharp well defined rifling. The throat is gauged at2+ and muzzle gauge a 1+. The gun comes with one the original U.S. Army sling that the gun came with. However, it is somewhat worn and cracked. What an outstanding find for the critical collector......$3595.
