C&R HOPKINS & ALLEN “Forehand DA” .38 Revolver
Here we present a C&R Hopkins & Allen “FOREHAND D.A.” .38 S&W Revolver, made circa the late 1890s in Norwich, Connecticut. This very concealable double action revolver holds 5 shots of .38 S&W. The top strap is marked “FOREHAND D.A.” and “HOPKINS & ALLEN ARMS CO./NORWICH, CONN. U.S.A.” The hard rubber grips are molded with “F&W”, for Forehand & Wadsworth, over an American shield motif, with a 6-pointed star around the grip screw.
The overall condition is very good. The original nickel finish is 75%. The markings are clear and legible. The hard rubber grips are original, and the left panel is in near fine shape, while the right panel is repaired. The bore is sharp and clean. The action is strong. A very nice Turn of the Century snubbie!
