Description:
Winchester Model 1886 .45-90 Black Powder Only. The rifle is a Winchester "Limited Series Take Down" model. The 26" full octagon barrel is stamped, ".45-90 Black Powder Only" and "Limited Series" on the right side, and on the left the barrel is stamped "-Winchester- U.S. Repeating Arms Co. New Haven, CT. U.S.A." and "Japan/Miroku" and "Winchester Trademark Licensed From Olin Corporation", and at the bottom of the barrel is stamped "00288", which is part of the serial number. The bottom of the receiver has the full serial number stamped, "00288/MW86B". Metal Condition: Excellent, save for a couple of small scratches on the bottom of the lever.
Wood Condition: Very goood but has some scratches in the butt-stock.
Bore Condition: Excellent, lightly shot.
Barrels: 26" Octagon barrel, take down with full length magazine tube.
Triggers: Single.
Stock: Walnut.
Stock Dimensions:
13 1/4" length of pull.
Fore End: Walnut with metal cap.
Butt Pad: Crescent metal plate.
Weight: 9 3/4 Lbs.
Sights: Large brass front sight (.194 in diameter). Appears to have been made from a solid brass rod. Rear buckhorn with elevator.
