Description:
The Colt Army Special Model was made from 1908 to 1927. The 6-shot revolvers were fitted with either a 4, 4 1/2, 5, or 6 inch barrel, hard rubber grips standard on earlier guns and checkered wood with "Rampant" Colt medallions on later, were blue finished, fixed sights, rounded checkered cylinder release thumb catch, smooth trigger, and were chambered in 32-20 W.C.F., .38 (various), or .41 Colt. This 1910 vintage gun is as described and is fitted with a 6 inch barrel, chambered in .38 Special, and is fitted with later checkered wood grips (off gun serial numbered 460xxx). It is in excellent condition, retaining about 95% of its original blue finish, with nice un-molested screws, some still retaining their original fire-blue finish. The trigger retains most of its original fire-blue finish and the hammer retains most all of its original fire-blue finish with nice polished sides. The grips are in excellent condition, retaining most of their original finish, with but one minor chip on the right grip and some minor handling marks. The action functions well and the bore is bright with sharp rifling. These Colt Army Special's are seldom seen, especially in this condition.
