SOLD PENDING FUNDS: Colt 1911 Commercial manufactured in 1917. Caliber is .45 ACP with a 5" barrel, fixed sights, and 7 shot magazine. This Colt is rated at 95% original condition with some bluing loss to the high edges and handling marks you would expect with a 101 year old gun. The barrel and mechanics are in excellent condition as are the diamond grips showing some flattening of the diamond checkering. This comes with a period correct box, but the penciled in number has long since worn off. The original manual and shooting instructions pamphlet are also included. The "Colt Letter" indicates it was shipped on March 24, 1917 to Abercrombie & Fitch Company in a shipment of 300 like pistols. A very difficult pistol to find in this condition especially coming with the box, manual and pamphlet. This is only the second 1911 Commercial box I have ever seen. If I did not already have a duplicate of this lot it would be going in my collection. A great investment and a very collectable asset to any firearms collection.
