Short CIVIL WAR Antique U.S. CONTRACT 1861 MUSKET

Here we present an antique U.S. Contract Model 1861 Musket, made in 1863 by Lamson, Goodnow & Yale of Windsor, Vermont. This musket was used in the American Civil War, then sold on the surplus market. It has been shortened and bored smooth. A small bead has been added to the top of the barrel for a front sight. The lock is marked “1863” and “L.G. & Y./WINDSOR. Butt plate is marked “US”.
Surfaces are dark with age. Stock is solid and smooth. Action is smooth.
