Description:
#87832, Francotte True Frame 410-3" From 1934: A. Francotte Maker & Patentee, Liege, Belgium - Von Lengerke & Detmold, U.S. Agents New York: An Auguste Francotte Model 25 in 410 Bore Made in 1934 for VL & D in New York City, 26" Ejector Siemens Martin Steel Dovetail Lump Rib with a Rib Extension and Hidden Crossbolt, It is .404 .003 & .015" (Imp.Cyl. & Imp.Mod.), Original 3" chambers, Original bore size proved at 10.2mm, Sideplates, Side clip action body, Miller single non-selective trigger, Splinter forend with an Anson release, Open pistol grip stock at 14 7/16 x 1 9/16 x 2 7/8" over a horn buttplate, Neutral stock, True 410 frame weight of only 4 lbs. 13 oz., 95% coverage of very nice floral engraving that is as well cut and styled as any Model 25 I have seen, It has 3 locking screws for key screws, Excellent wood with excellent color & contrast; This piece is 1934 original, it appears to me, on both metal and wood, It retains 50% original case colors, The original barrel blue is 98%, The stock has been oiled but not sanded and remains at 97%, The checkering remains at 100%, The barrels inside & out are excellent plus and look like new, The barrels ring with a very nice chime, It is tight on the face and remains as a really solid gun that was very well kept. One of the best out of Belgium, great 1934 vintage, very nice engraving and comes to hand with ease with what I think is great stock dimensions.
