My interests are Winchester rifles in models 1892 and 1894 especially with shorter than standard barrels. I have also written four books on Newton rifles and have interest in all models of those rifles. newtonrifles Description: This is a standard First Model 1916 Newton rifle with no factory options. It is serial number 1130 and is numbered with that number in 11 places. The wood is in very good+ condition with few marks. The receiver and barrel retain 96-97% original blue, the floorplate 70% and the buttplate 80%. The bore in the original 24" barrel is very good with strong rifling. The sights are original and the stock has no cracks. It is a takedown rifle as all Newton rifles. The rifle is pictured in "The Newton Rifle, First Edition" on page 95, in "The Newton Rifle, Second Edition" on page 97 and in "The Newton Rifle Handbook" on pages 2 and 41. I don't have many rifles pictured in three of the books. I prefer to ship USPS, will ship UPS on request and WILL NOT ship Fed Ex. A C&R or FFL is also needed. If you would like to calculate shipping costs, the shipment will weigh 18 lbs and measure 39x12x5. I ship these in a wooden box.
