Description:
Fox AE 12 Gauge Side-by-Side
HIGH CONDITION, #2 WEIGHT KRUPP BARRELS, NICE!

General Specs: Fox, Year 1909, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 10oz, SxS
Serial Number: 11902

Most Fox guys are aware that Ansley H. Fox’s guns from the earliest manufacture were extremely well built.  His advertising slogan, “The Finest Gun in the World” was his primary focus, and guns that shot and patterned extremely well were part of what made his guns the finest.  Ansley Herman Fox was well known to consider quality first, cost second.  This is demonstrated by looking at the internals of even his entry level A Grade gun in the early years, like this fine A Grade, sn11902 built in 1909.  My examination of many early guns prove this out, as the internals are nicely polished on the early A Grade guns and "not so much" on the later A Grades.  This gun is a rare find in that most early A Grade 12ga. guns are used hard and well worn, and most have replaced wood, broken stocks, bad restorations, etc, but this gun is extremely well cared for and even has ejectors, nicely figured original wood, 93% factory blue on the barrels, 50% factory case color, and 90% factory charcoal blue on the trigger guard.  The 30” #2 weight Krupp steel barrels have the strongly reinforced forend lug, excellent bores, sharp lettering…just in great original condition.  The action screws are perfect, wood to metal fit superb, barrels are tight on the hinge pin and breech face, and there are no cracks or repairs to the wood.  This gun is mechanically perfect, with crisp triggers, well timed ejectors, auto safety, and it even has decent shooting dimensions (we can bend stocks to suit your needs).  I like the early AE Grade guns, and this is a great example at a great price, and it is set up perfectly for sporting clays and upland hunting over dogs.  These original condition guns are great investments and this one is affordable.  Thank you for looking!
