Description:
This variation of the famous Winchester Model 70 was introduced in 2008. It was manufactured with the pre-1964 style controlled round feeding and a new style adjustable trigger. It is a very attractive rifle with a high gloss factory blue finish and a fleur-de-lis checkered Walnut stock with a schnabel forend. We feel that this newer version of the Model 70 is every bit as good as far as function and accuracy as the sought-after old pre-64 rifles. This rifle is in excellent condition overall and could possibly be unfired since it left the factory. The factory blue rates a solid 98+ to 99% with the only noticeable mark on it a tiny nich and scratch on the left side of the receiver, to the rear of the forward scope base. There is a close up picture of this spot so you can see it in detail. The bore is minty and bright. The rifling has sharp lands and grooves and there is no pitting, fouling, or erosion of any kind. The stock looks "like-new" and is free from cracks or repairs. The factory Decelerator pad is also in excellent condition and pulls 13.75 inches to the end of the pad. This Winchester comes with a set of Leupold scope bases already installed on it, and they do not appear to have ever had rings installed on them. This Model 70 comes with the original box serial numbered to the rifle and the owners manual. If you have been looking for a classy Whitetail deer rifle that is the perfect size, weight, and caliber, this Winchester Model 70 Featherweight would be an excellent choice!
