Description:
This is a very nice Pedro Arrizabalaga made J. Roberts London sidelock gun in the Boss style round action. It is the #2 gun of an original pair. London proof marks. Self opener. Very nice checkered butt plate. The gun is in excellent original condition with beautiful traditional English rose and scroll engraving.
The gun is cased in its original Brady English canvas and leather case with a Roberts label and some accessories. The gun has very nice modern "shootable" dimensions with a 15" LOP and 28" barrels with IC/M chokes.
Pedro Arizabalaga was of course known as the "Purdey of Spain" before selling out a few years ago. And Roberts is a well known London gun firm trading today. This is a very nice value as a slightly used gun as the replacement would be at least double the asking price today.
This firearm is from the Oliver-Brice collection. The principal owned a private equity firm in Switzerland which allowed him to travel extensively in the UK and Europe. His passion was finding and researching high quality/investment grade British and European double shotguns. His collection is extensive and includes a number of unique firearms like this one.
