Description:
I have for sale a beautiful upland gun made by the legendary maker Merkel. This is a model 1620EL in 16 gauge with straight English grip, splinter forend, and double triggers. This model Merkel comes with a Greener cross bolt and double under barrel locking lugs. It is the Anson and Deely Boxlock action and has Holland and Holland ejectors. All guns of this model are hand engraved and this gun is signed by "G.L." which are the initials of Gerhard Liebscher who is the Engraving Shop Master for Merkel. Stocks are of luxury grade Turkish Walnut and the stock dimensions are 1 1/2 X 2 9/16 X 14 1/2 over the original Merkel plate and has neutral cast. Forend is a nicely checkered splinter style. Chambers are 2 3/4 inches and the 28 inch barrels are choked improved cylinder and modified as stamped on the barrel flats. Safety is automatic type. Condition of the gun is at least 97 percent with a few light impressions to the wood. Barrels remain excellent. This gun is extremely tight as with all new Merkels and if you look at the pictures of the breech face you can see it has been fired very little. Current pricing on these guns new is over eight thousand dollars. Price of this gun is $5200 plus $50 shipping to your FFL. As always there is a three day non-firing inspection period with the buyer paying shipping charges if returned. This is a beutiful gun in excellent condition and will please any upland hunter.
