SCARCE ENGRAVED Marlin XX Standard 1873 Revolver
EXCELLENT CONDITION
Here we present an antique Factory Engraved Marlin XX Standard 1873 Revolver in .22 Rimfire, made circa 1880 in New Haven, Connecticut. Only about 10,000 of these revolvers were made, and most were not engraved like this one is. Featuring 7 shots of .22 rimfire, this small revolver would have been just enough firepower to defend oneself and conceal and carry easily.
This revolver is factory engraved on the barrel, frame and cylinder. The top of the barrel is marked “XX. STANDARD. 1873.” The left side is marked “J.M. MARLIN. NEW HAVEN CT USA PAT. JULY 1 1873”.
The overall condition is excellent. The original nickel finish is 98%. Case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. Engraving and markings are clear. Serial numbers match including the grips. The rosewood grips are smooth and solid, and retain much of the original varnish. The bore is sharp and clean. The action is excellent. Here is a jewel of an engraved Marlin revolver!
