A Buffalo Newton Rifle Model 1916 First Model rifle in 256 Newton. Serial number 1693. Bore is bright and shiny. Wood has no cracks. Metal has some rust spots as seen on the photos. Peep sight is missing but front and rear sights are complete. Safety, bolt and triggers are really smooth and function perfectly. No holes or modifications. All serial numbers match. The action and trigger on this rifle is much smoother than a similar Newton serial number in the 1500's that I sold to a collector in Texas a few years ago but the wood is not as pretty My book indicates the rifle was made in Buffalo, New York in 1917. I ussually sell at under the name "Ek Mis Afrika" on . I'm selling guns so I can make a return trip to Afrika.
