Description:
Enfield Pattern 1853 Rifle - Musket, .58 Caliber. Percussion lock marked "1862  Tower".  Bottom of buttstock stamped, "A Homer",  an export company. "5wc5" marked near top of buttplate and initials, "J W" carved into left side of buttstock. Good bore, rare brass ramrod, minor pitting on breech. Overall very good condition wood and metal. An above average example. Markings suggest Confederate use, if verified this Enfield would be worth much more than the listed price.
