Description:
Up for sale today is a us Colt M1911 serial no. 349756 chambered in caliber .45 Automatic. This outstanding, honest M1911 was (according to W. W. Goddard’s book on 1911s) was produced by Colt in 1918, sent to Springfield Armory, and then sent to Busch Terminal in New York for embarkation to France for use in the First World War. This pistol retains some of its original blued finish, has outstanding grips, and shows no evidence whatsoever of rebuild by the US Army. The pistol has an excellent bore, the correct magazine, and shows some light stippling on the grip safety and mainspring housing which may have been done in-theater. An excellent M1911 and a great addition to any discerning connoisseur’s collection.
