Harrington & Richardson Single Action Only Sportsman with Patent Number Inscribed on Cylinder.
This is a very early 1900s revolver. It uses the single action system that was originally designed their single shot U.S.R.A. Competition pistol. You will note the gun's barrel is marked "Single Action". It is easily recognized by the fact that the trigger is almost straight, whereas double actions is distinctly curved. The most unusual thing is the fact that the cylinder has the patent number of the trigger system stamped between the flutes of the cylinder.
The condition of this little rarity is just great. It retains about 95-96% of the original factory finish. There is the usual sharp edge silvering, some light surface pinpricks on the barrel by the muzzle and a few on the cylinder along with the usual cylinder drag ring.
The front grip strap has not grayed to any extent. The trigger and hammer retained about 90% of the original plating.
The chambers are quite clean with no sign of wear or erosion.
The walnut wrap around grips are not split or chipped but does have a few small surface scratches on the butt. The grip screw is not damaged. The bore is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling, not a trace of frost anywhere. It should be real fun at the camp site or for that collection you are building........$595.
