ORIGINAL WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 SPECIAL ORDER .44 W.C.F. CAL. SHORT RIFLE CA. 1906 W/MEXICAN REVOLUTION HISTORY AND FACTORY LETTER. Factory 20” round barrel and full length magazine tube. Barrel stamped at the left breech “44 W.C.F.” Made on the correct Model 1873 Carbine frame with stepped down receiver ring. 100% original including the special order two leaf carbine rear sight. Factory nickel blade front sight. Walnut stock and forend and special order butt plate made without cleaning rod compartment. Working order. Dark bore with visible rifling. Well used relic of the Mexican Revolution and very typical of Winchesters special ordered by Revolutionary factions in Mexico for the use of their irregular cavalry. Right side of the barrel stamped in tiny letter “ODIN ALEX VA” for Odin International that purchased a large lot of confiscated guns from the Mexican Government-many dating to the Mexican Revolution of the early 20th Century. With factory letter confirming it as a factory original 20” barrel short rifle. Very colorful.
