Description:
A handsome example of a classic English gunmaker's barrels that did not pass proof. These barrels are from a No. 2 gun by E. J Churchill and have his signature, finely detailed raised rib and gold applique. The ejectors and hinge are perfect. The overall length after being destroyed, is 7 1/2 inches. A shame really, but imagine the grief that both the owner and Churchill must have felt when learning the news ! Still and all, it makes a wonderful display.
