Description:
Swiss Model 1889 Schmidt Rubin straight pull bolt action rifle. GP90 7.5x53.5mm caliber. The top of the handguard and right side of the buttstock each have a Swiss cross sheild proof mark, the top of the butt-stock has a 2 inside a round circle stamp and the bottom of the buttstock is stamped with a W. There are a number of + stamps and a few x stamps in the receiver, magazine, bolt, barrel, trigger-guard, bottom tang, barrel-band, sling-swivel mount and buttplate. The serial number, 165388, is stamped in the receiver, bolt-body, barrel and magazine, and the last three numbers of the serial number, 388, are stamped in the buttplate and all three pieces making up the rear sight. On the left side of the receiver, right under the serial number a P22 is stamped. ConditionMechanically the rifle is in excellent operating condition. The metal blue is in good to fair condition, showing fading and some browning at the muzzle. The wood and varninsh finish are in good to fair condition with wear, scratches and dings. The bore is in excellent condition, very bright with very strong lands and grooves. There is no corrosion or pitting whatsoever.
