Description:

NICE C&R FOREHAND & WADSWORTH Top Break Revolver

Fine with 6 Shots of .32 S&W

Here we present a fine example of a Forehand Arms Co. Top Break .32 S&W Revolver, made circa 1900 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The revolver was a small, well-built, self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the closing decades of the tumultuous 19th Century. It was made by the sons-in-law of Ethan Allen, the successful firearms inventor and manufacturer from the 1830s.

The top of the barrel reads “FOREHAND ARMS CO. WORCESTER MASS. U.S.A.”, followed by patent dates. The hard rubber grips are marked “F&W” for Forehand & Wadsworth.

The overall condition is fine. The original nickel finish is 98%. The markings are clear. The original grips are in good shape, with a chip on the bottom of the right panel. The bore has sharp rifling and is bright. The action is excellent. A wonderful little turn of the 20th Century revolver!
