Started with a circa 1959 Winchester action that was built into a handsome and very accurate 7 X 57 Mauser. It has a 22” Pac-Nor barrel fitted by Steve Baldwin and the muzzle has a recessed crown. The nicely figured French Walnut stock is attributed to George Beitzinger, formerly of Griffin & Howe and it features a shadow line right hand cheek piece, slim finely checkered pistol grip with a steel grip cap. The fitting and bedding of the stock to the barreled action was done by Tom Mason. The end of the stock is fitted with a 1” solid red/widows peak G&H recoil pad making LOP at 14 1/8” and the stock is fitted with swivel studs. The bolt handle was altered to accommodate low scope mounts if necessary. Three position safety. The factory trigger breaks cleanly and sharply at 2 lbs. 8 oz. Overall weight of the gun is 7 lbs. 9 oz. including the two-piece Burris mounts and the Leupold 1” rings. The metal retains a strong 98% bluing with just some fading on the bolt. The stock also gets a 98%+ finish rating. Great rifle, great caliber..ready to be scoped and used for years to come. $2,650.00 SN: 448300 SOLD |
