CIVIL WAR LEFAUCHEUX MODEL 1854 SINGLE ACTION 12 MM PINFIRE CAVALRY REVOLVER CIRCA 1861. 6 shot pinfire breech loading military serial numbered in the 60,xxx range and all matching and original excellent condition. 80% plus original blue finish on barrel and cylinder with much blue still remaining in the chambers. Crisp grey case hardened frame. Original grips with 60-705 original varnish. Frame with Lefaucheux inspection stamp before the serial number “PROOF/LF”. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Many purchased by both the Union and Confederate States during the war. Many issued to western Union Volunteer Cavalry from Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin. As well as slightly over 100 to Maryland Cavalry that saw service at Gettysburg. Extra nice example.
