<h2> I bought this rifle at a local estate sale, a 36 cal. Hatfield flintlock rifle with a 36" octagon barrel. My brother, Ted Hatfield, started making these rifles back in the 1970's. Ted no longer lives in St. Joe so I sent him this rifle to see what he knew about it and his letter is included with the gun. The curly maple stock is in good condition with no cracks or chips however there is a ding on the right side of the wrist of the rifle (see photos). The barrel finish is a very nice brown (see photos) with iron thimbles, trigger guard and crescent butt plate. This rifle has double set triggers, buck horn style rear and blade front sight and functions perfectly (see photos). It comes with the blue cloth gun sleeve he used to include with every rifle during the first few years of production.
