Description:
The John Inglis Company of Toroto, Canada was contracted during WW2 to build a copy of the Belgian Browning/FN High Power Pistol for one of the "Allies", the Chinese Nationalist Army.  It was a close copy of the pre-war Belgian High Power with a 500 Meter tangent rear sight and a slotted rear grip strap for the attachment of a shoulder stock/holster.  This is a non-import marked example that has been restored with a phosphate finish like the originals.  It has all matching numbers and a minty bright bore with sharp rifling.  The internals in this pistol are in excellent condition and show very little wear.  The checkered black plastic grips are original and are also in excellent condition, free from cracks or repairs.  Everything works 100% like the day it left the factory.  This Inglis Mk.1* comes with an original SA Ltd. 1945 shoulder stock/holster, also in excellent condition.  It is nicely marked with the "SA Ltd 1945" cartouche and inspector's proofmark on the top of the stock when attached to the pistol.  It is free from cracks or repairs, the hardware is in excellent condition, and even comes with an original hanger which is ink stamped with the maker's mark and broad arrow proof.  These stocks were quite nicely made and finished as you can see, even incorporating inserts of a tougher and lighter colored wood in the stress areas, visible in the end-view with the lid open.  This is a very interesting WW2 rig that is seldom encountered and would be an excellent addition to any collection.  It would also be quite fun to shoot at the range with the stock attached!
