Description:
Very unusual and attractively-engraved 16 ga double by Jos. Sigott, Ferlach Austria. Looks like a scalloped double trigger BLNE but the lockwork is all on the trigger plate! Very tight gun with Purdey double underlugs and doll's head, gold cocking indicators. Full coverage game scenes (rabbit, birds, roe deer with vines in relief, signed "Remo". Triggers checkered, front is adjustable. Steel (Ost Armee) nitro proof bbls, 29 1/4" with 2 5/8" chambers, L .661/.632 (full), R .662/.632 (full) light pitting but plenty of meat if you want to hone them. 22lpi checkering, recently recut, 13 3/4" lop thru original horn plate, 1.5 and 2.5" drops with moderate cast off and cheekpiece. Original sling swivels in place. Stock is fairly plain but in v. good shape, minor cosmetic repair to head on left side. Good screws. 6lb and begging to go bird hunting!
