CIVIL WAR MANHATTAN .36 CAL. PERCUSSION NAVY REVOLVER CA. 1864. 5 shot with 6 ½” octagon barrel stamped “MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS CO., NEWARK, N.J.”. All original matching example with fine Naval and military battle scene panels roll die engraved on the cylinder. Rear of the cylinder stamped “PATENTED DEC. 27, 1859”. Scarcer model with protective shield at rear of cylinder to retard multiple discharges. Extra nice example with crisp grey original patina on metal and very crisp markings with all the cylinder scene remaining. Brass straps with small amounts of silver remaining. Excellent walnut grips with nearly all the original varnish. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Old Manhattan collection provenance.
