Description: Sold ! This rare Savage M - 99K was mfg abtout 1932 - Serial No. 314XXX, .300 Savage Cal. and a 24" barrel w/a nice bore w/a distinct twist. The last offical cost was in 1940 and it listed for $ 85.75 - "hmm". My how the price of fine firearms has risen. It has distinct checkered Pistol Grip w/ the correct blued cap and fancy hand checkered American Walnut w/hand rubbed finish. The Butt Stock has deep walnut ribbing contras from the receiver to the rear w/o any scratches, dents or gouges. It appears to me to be about 85 -90% with the correct semi rubbed oil - varnish finish. The forarm is the straight fancy hand rubbed American Walnut w/the schnoblr tip and the correct release button for removeable. This also is a "Takedown Model K" and it all functions properly. The factory engraving on the receiver unuque and very special for this "Model K" as well as very distinct and excellent. The gun bluing is about 75-90 % w/the usual wear arounn the bottom and across some of the top of the receiver area. The bluing fade is now a nice patina. The barrel is about 90% w/some very light muzzle edge and front sight areas. The rear sight is the correct Lyman dish peep sight, along with the rear leaf "Ivory" leaf flip sight and the front sight is the "Sherad's w/the Gold Bead. The Model "K" is unque because it doesn't have a model designation- it says "300 SAVAGE". Overal I would give this Savage an "NRA rating of Very Good to Excellent". SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: Savage Model: K Serial Number: 314XXX Caliber Info: .300 Condition: NRA -VG - Excellent Action: Lever Engraving: Factory Proof:Nitro: See Markings - Barrel |
