The bore has strong rifling but has dirty grooves and very much needing a good scrubbing. The action is rather sticky and while it is working, it should be “smoothed up” if actual shooting is intended. The exterior has light to medium pitting overall with the more serious pitting being on the cylinder so consequently there is basically no cylinder scene visible, although the serial line is dimly readable and looks to possibly be matching. Good grips with average wear but I suspect that they are possibly old replacements. Barrel has a good address and has the often seen small slot at the breech end where a rear sight had been added. The ’61-Navy is a tough Colt to find, and while this is just a decent entry level collectible, it is a very reasonable price. About “Good” $1195 SOLD Antique: Yes |
